Dr. Ross McCarty is a Meridian native who is so excited to return home to do what he has dreamed of: work with his dad! While growing up in Meridian, Ross was an active member of his church, played youth sports (basketball and golf are his favorite), and earned his Eagle Scout. Ross went to Mississippi College where he studied Biology with the intention of being a dentist. While he was a college student he participated in a mission trip to Mexico with a team of dentists, and during that trip he truly knew he was being called to dentistry. Ross attended the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in Charleston, South Carolina where he earned his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry. While a dental student, he was president of the Pediatric Dentistry Club and directed extra-curricular service opportunities through the peer-elected leadership positions he held.
After graduation, Ross moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast where he worked exclusively with children for the three and a half years living there. Ross has been extensively trained in pediatric behavior management, oral pathology, and dental sedation, including well over 100 hours of study in this area. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Mississippi Dental Association, and Meridian Area Dental Society.
Dr. McCarty is thankful he has been able to use dentistry to serve those who need it most at home and abroad through organized dental service programs in Mississippi and South Carolina, and 5 mission trips to Mexico and Haiti.
Dr. McCarty and his wife Mandy have one child, and they are excited about living in Meridian and raising a family in the same area where he has so many memories!
